In our last blog post, we learned about healing methods that are more physical and/or more well-known. Today we will discuss some unconventional methods that might be a little more mystical and might require an open mind. Remember these are only meant to inform and you can decide for yourself what you’d like to try out.

Emotional Freedom Tapping(EFT):

Emotional freedom technique is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. Similar to acupuncture, EFT focuses on energy hot spots that are used to restore balance to your body’s energy. It is believed that restoring this energy balance can assist with relieving symptoms a negative experience or emotion may have caused.

Reiki:

Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing. The word “Reiki” means “mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign.” It comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy. Most people feel very relaxed and peaceful during reiki treatment, and many fall asleep during the process.

Shamanism:

Shamanism is a spiritual practice founded by Native Americans. Individuals who seek shamanic healing are working towards taking a multidisciplinary approach combined with other therapeutic techniques. It is believed that those who search into shamanism go through a spirit world through altered states of consciousness. The goal is to direct these spiritual energies into a healing purpose. Shamans direct and move energy to restore the harmony within the individual, between the individual and the community, and between the community and the spirit world.
