Resilience is known as “the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties” or “toughness.” Resilience is the capacity to bounce back from difficult situations, it means you are able to adapt to different obstacles that may have come before you.
Here at A Resilient Journey, we pride ourselves on helping our clients become who they are supposed to be and who they love to be. We want to help our clients feel comfortable in their own skin.
Many people fear resilience because of the pain that might be associated with it. We often think that we are not resilient, that we are not able to overcome difficult situations. Resilience is your opportunity to embrace these challenges and see them as a way to grow. Ask yourself constantly “what can I do to learn from this situation?” Here are our seven tips on how to grow in your resilience.
Maintain a sense of perspective:
Keep your eye fixated on the big picture as well as the small details, allow these to motivate you to be resilient.
View your decision as choices, not sacrifices:
Remember in certain situations, it may feel that we are giving up a piece of ourselves. Stray away from looking at it as loss, focus on why you are choosing to let this go.
Surround yourself with people who make you feel good:
A support system is necessary and vital. We often isolate ourselves when things go bad, but it only leads to more stress and frustration.
Believe in yourself:
This may be hard to believe, but you create the destiny you want to live. In difficult times, staying optimistic is what helps us get through these times.
Recognize that setbacks are inevitable:
We cannot prevent something from happening, what is bound to happen, will. Allow yourself to be flexible when situations arise so that you can see how to handle those.
Remember, you are a resilient person, you can and will overcome any situation.
Here is how you can reflect today:
What part of me is feeling upset and what can I do to alleviate that?
